Throughout all cultures and society, art is used to express one's religious and also pride towards themselves. Though there are different religions, the art presents similar aspects of the culture. The reason I chose this theme, is because module 10 is about Islamic art, additionally we are in the Holy Month of Ramadan. Which Muslims have been celebrating this holy act for over 14 centuries. 

1. This first artwork comes from Islamic culture. This is a cover of The Quaran. Which is the Holy Book of Islam. The design on the cover establishes an illumination of watercolors and geometric design for the worshipping Islam. Not only would this attract Muslims, but the art on this would also bring others to look or read into it. Thus, spreading its powerful culture.

2. The next artwork comes from Greece. This is representing the Christan and Islamic culture. But more so, this was during the time of the crusades and symbolizes the Christan religion. This symbol of the griffon is put on tombstones for royal linages to protect them. Embodying the power royalty held back in the day.

3. And the last art comes from Italy. This piece expresses the views of Christianity. The artwork showcases the emperor Otto and the dedication towards the church for that year.
