Q1

Even before I went to the exhibition, I knew at all that forcing me to wear a hijab suppresses women, but this opportunity allowed me to learn more about it.
The history of hijabs has been strictly regulated by not exposing women's bodies due to the need to protect women, but in modern society, Muslim countries are suppressing women by forcing them to wear hijabs.

Of course, I don't think it matters if you don't mind being suppressed by religious beliefs. However, in Islam, women are legally forced to wear hijabs, and even non-Muslim foreigners are forced to wear them. I think that forcing even non-Muslim foreigners to wear hijabs is not a religious belief, but rather a force just because they are women.

I just think that forcing Muslim women to wear hijabs is, in Islamic Bible 33:59, "Tell your wives and daughters and the women who believe in them to wear outerwear. That's the best thing for them not to be known and bothered." Their religion basically treats women as socially underprivileged.
Once again, I think it's good to wear a hijab to show Muslim women's self-identity and religious beliefs, but regardless of this, I think it's a problem to force the country to wear a hijab.

<Why did the professor assign this field trip?>

Recently, there are many women wearing hijabs at the back gate of Chosun University or in Korea. They do not have a bad perception of them, and I think it is for their understanding of culture.
I also think the problem with Islamic hijab is because it has both administrative and welfare aspects.

<Why is it important that I know?>

Recently, I've seen a lot of women wearing hijabs. Before I went to the exhibition, when I saw women wearing hijabs, I thought they were strange people
I thought why do you wear something like that.
However, through today's exhibition activities, I was able to know that these perceptions were intended to express their religious beliefs and their identity. I was able to respect their culture and understand them.
I think it is important to know and understand the other person's culture in this multicultural world.

<How did it help you learn administration?>

Hijab is highly relevant in administrative terms.
The state's coercion of hijabs is an administrative aspect, and so is the bill. In France, which is based on the principle of separation of church and state, the burqa is legally prohibited in public and the hijab is prohibited in schools from all administrative aspects.
In most countries, the Constitution says that all citizens have religious freedom, but in countries such as Iran, Islamic religion itself has become a law.

<How did it help you learn welfare?>

The issue of women in welfare is very important in modern society. In Islam, the view of women is very outdated and women's social advancement and women's freedom are suppressed by the belief that it is religion. In Islamic countries, policies on welfare for women are very scarce.
I was worried about how to guarantee women's welfare in these countries.

As a solution to this, he suggested minimizing waste collection and disposable products.

<Separate collection practice>

Recycling properly is a great help in protecting the environment and preserving resources. We throw recyclable paper, plastic, metal, etc. separately in the recycling bin, and food waste in the food waste bin. This way, we can facilitate recycling and reduce waste of resources.

<Minimize disposable items>

Minimizing disposable items is an important step toward a sustainable life. You can reduce the use of disposable plastic bags by drinking drinks using a reusable tumbler or water bottle, and grocery shopping using an eco-bag or a reusable shopping bag. Also, you can minimize the use of disposable items by using reusable tableware instead of disposable items.

Recycling and minimizing disposable products are essential to solve the problem of waste pollution. Through these efforts, we can protect the environment and take steps toward a sustainable future. More people need to be aware of and put into practice environmental issues. Through sustainable choices, we can contribute to considering and protecting the environment in all areas of our lives.

Interview target: Housewife

(47 years old woman)

The interviewee, a 47-year-old women, pointed to water pollution as Gwangju's biggest environmental problem. she suggested solving the problem by suggesting the following three measures.

<Participate in regular environmental cleanup activities>

Participating in environmental cleanup events hosted by local communities can contribute to cleaning up water contaminated areas and protecting the environment. This includes activities to immediately report to authorities and respond to any discovery of harmful substances, as well as waste collection on beaches and riversides.

<Changing the consumption pattern>

It is important to reduce water pollution by choosing eco-friendly products and minimizing the use of single-use plastics. You can minimize your personal impact on the environment by preferring reusable products and using products made from sustainable materials instead of plastic.

<Participate in regional policies>

We need to actively participate in urging local governments to implement measures against water pollution. You can participate in meetings of government agencies and local organizations to actively propose policies for environmental protection and water quality improvement, and participate in campaigns for education and awareness of environmental issues in your community to raise environmental awareness.

These efforts show that we can bring about great changes when we work together to create a better environment. Through continuous participation in activities, changes in consumption patterns, and cooperation with local governments, we can seek and implement solutions to water pollution problems. We should work together to protect Gwangju's environment.

Visit to 4.19 Museum

<historical stories I learned>

(4.19) The Revolution is one of the major events of the pro-democracy movement in Korean history. During a recent (4.19) visit to the History Museum, I discovered an unexpected aspect. Contrary to what I knew, I learned that not only adults but also countless high school students participated in the revolution. In particular, the fact that students participated in the protests at various high schools in Gwangju gave me an even greater surprise. After learning these facts, I realized that the movement has not only led to adult efforts but also to the passion and sacrifice of the younger generation.

<Impact of the 4.19 Revolution on Young People>

I spent my childhood in Gwangju, where I was educated on historical events such as the (4.19) Revolution and the (5.18) Democratic Movement. Through these educations, I felt grateful for them and realized in person that the freedom, human rights, and democracy we naturally enjoy today were possible thanks to their sacrifice and struggle.

However, looking at the difference in education between schools in Gwangju and those in other regions, I had another worry. While students in Gwangju are highlighted and educated for the importance of historical events such as the (4.19) revolution, students in other regions may not. This soon raises concerns that they may not fully understand the values we currently enjoy and the importance of democracy.

This is why I believe that students from other regions should also be educated on historical events, such as the (4.19) Revolution, just like students from Gwangju. Through this, they express their gratitude to those who have helped them create the freedom and human rights they enjoy, and expect them to make efforts to further solidify their democracy.
