This line is powerful to me because it reminds me of how much Salva has already been through.  The hardest thing he's ever done is trek through the Akobo desert, but he's also been through so much more.  For example, he had to run away from his school during the attack and he has been without his family for a month now. The phrase is powerful to me because the war happen when he was at school .Not home so he couldn't  go home to see his family.
The teacher told him to run to the bush not to go home. This is powerful because if you are in the group then random men come with some guns and then someone you love in your family get tried to a tree and be shot in a second and the leave. Then take the peoples chortles then run off.
