I would have Jolly phonics open and would get the children to look at all the three letter words we can read and blend. next we would revise what a vowel is and name them (<strong>A</strong>ngry<strong> E</strong>lephant <strong>I</strong>n<strong> O</strong>range<strong> U</strong>nderpants)<br><br></div><div>Next I would explain to the children that when the letter e is at the end of the word, it makes the vowel sound like its name not sound. Next we would revise letter sounds and then letter names.<br><br></div><div>Using the large cvc words as shown in picture above, we would say the word without the e. so for example: m-a-n = man. Revising our rule, we would then say the word with the magic e making the vowel sound like its name giving us mane.<br><br></div><div>I would go through all the cvc words with the class without the magic e and with the magic e.<br><br></div><div>Next, in pairs, children will get their tablet where ABC reading magic 4 final e will be open.<br><br></div><div>&nbsp;<br><br></div><div><figure class="attachment attachment-preview" data-trix-attachment="{&quot;contentType&quot;:&quot;image&quot;,&quot;height&quot;:320,&quot;url&quot;:&quot;http://teachercpd.ie/pluginfile.php/26018/mod_forum/post/236480/1.jpeg&quot;,&quot;width&quot;:568}" data-trix-content-type="image"><img src="http://teachercpd.ie/pluginfile.php/26018/mod_forum/post/236480/1.jpeg" width="568" height="320"><figcaption class="caption"></figcaption></figure>The children will be presented with this screen. <title>Re: Module 5 - Reflective Learning Activityby&amp;nbsp;marcella holohan&amp;nbsp;- Thursday, 11 August 2016, 7:27 AM&amp;nbsp;I have learned so much from this course. I thought I had a good knowledge of ICT but now feel i have a better understanding of tablets and apps that can be used as part of lessons. They Key Learning Points:* The amount of useful apps and websites available for no cost such as explain everything, evernote, scoilnet maps, Socrative and the most beneficial being scoilnets learning path*How tablets can be adjusted to suit the needs of children with SEN-voice over, zoom magnification, invert/negative colours etc.* How apps such as twitter can be used in an edcational manner in the classroom and promote oral language, sef esteem and confidence, as well as improve reading and sentece structure. How knowledge can be applied when back to school in SeptemberLike most things, it takes time and planning for anyone to feel comfortable with using something new. I will definitley be using learning paths as i really feel that it is an amazing website. I also will try to integrate tablets, where suitable, into lessons, especially in station teaching and aistear. Class Dojo is something that i use and will continue to do so.I really like the idea of setting up a twitter account and using it daily for news. I have a friend teaching in Dublin so a skpe date might also be on the cards.Main ChallengesAt present, our school dont have tablets but we do have a wide range of laptops which I can use.It will take time for ICT to be integrated into lessons so I just have to remember this,Next StepImplement tablets/laptops into lessons where appropriate.Educate and pass on course information to fellow staff members so that it can become a whole school agenda</title>

<title>Re: Module 5 - Discussion Forumby&amp;nbsp;marcella holohan&amp;nbsp;- Thursday, 11 August 2016, 7:41 AM&amp;nbsp;I have a child in September who has Autism so I am writing this post in terms of what intend to do for inclusion.Module 5 gave great insight into the different ways the tablets can be modified to aid a child with SEN. life skills can be completed on the tablets by sequencing pictures of their daily routines, they can have a visual timetable and create social stories.I know this child has very weak fine motor skills so I would encourage finger to write on tablet for long tasks. His pincer grip can then be worked on with resource teacher when he is withdrawn.Communication with parents is important for all children but I feel even more so when you have a child with SEN. A diary could be kept on the tablet where you and the parent(s) can keep notes on how the child is doing on a daily basis, if he is having a bad day, what apps he was on today, if they were helpful, if he enjoyed them etc.&amp;nbsp;</title>
