When I think about what makes a good leader, three qualities come to mind: intelligence, dependability, and empathy. (1) Intelligent, because a leader is not someone who should do the labor, but someone who can make people do the work effectively. He should be aware of how to begin and complete the task as well as any associated technicalities. (2) Dependability is important because people naturally follow those who they find reliable and trustworthy. A leader is supposed to set an example to his people. He should be someone who can listen to people in order to know their needs as well as someone who is precise with his words so that there will be no divisions. (3) Empathy, a leader should be someone who prioritizes people over policies, realities over rules and someone who puts the good of his people over his personal agendas.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>To be considered a competent leader, I believe you must not only know how to accomplish something, but also how to get it done in an efficient and effective way. It is not just knowing your position as a leader and taking everything on your own. You must know how to communicate effectively across your members and initiate collaboration. You must be willing to improve and learn by thinking outside the box and remaining open to advice and suggestions from others. You must continuously show up to your people on a daily basis, especially during critical times. Because why would they follow a leader who is usually absent? A competent leader must deliver to the best of their ability because by performing with utmost excellence it motivates and inspires people around them. That is what a competent leader is for me.</div><div><br></div>]]></description>

We are all aware that a good leader is willing to do all of her/his responsibilities sincerely and passionately, including listening to every voice or opinion, keeping her/his mind open, communicating clearly and respectfully with others, maintaining a positive attitude to encourage her/his members, willing to be a continuous learner, accepting her/his mistakes as a lesson, and being a good example for others. Furthermore, a competent leader inspires and motivates their followers to do the same, and has critical thinking skills in order to understand logical relationships between ideas, recognize the importance and relationship of an argument, recognize reasoning errors, and, most importantly, make wise decisions.</div>]]></description>
