Having students set goals for themselves as well as a class, personal learning plans as a great tool to visually see growth and reflect.
Offer as many opportunities for students to self-assess by having a traffic light and students can post a note to let me know they understood, would like support, or did not understand.

Involving them in decisions at the beginning of the year about our classroom. I believe this will engage students and have them begin to take ownership in the classroom. 

Another action I will take is focusing on strengthening student's reflection. This past year I feel as though myself and the class were very surface level in this area. I want to teach students to reflect on their learning finding both positive areas as well as areas they could grow in. The PYP teaching tools had great suggestions for using rubrics in the classroom. I have used rubrics in the past but I have never involved students in creating them.
