How are things? Thanks for the letter; it's been ages since we last spoke! Probably my fault more than anything! Sorry. I've just been so busy with the move. All settled in now though at last! How are Suzy and the kids? Jack was off to primary school last time we spoke if I remember rightly. They grow up so fast!

About the marathon, you heard half right! It was actually  a full marathon that I did! It was great. A lot of hard work and training, but totally worth it. I'm fitter than I've ever been in my life and I feel fantastic.

I was raising money for a local hospice. I think it's so important the work that they do. Looking after people in their time of need must not be easy and they receive very little funding from the local authorities. I really wanted to do something to help them. As for why I didn't just fork out the money myself, that's a good question I suppose! Well, firstly, I guess I didn't have that much money to give them directly, but I also thought that doing the marathon might inspire others to do something similar. By all accounts, the hospice have received a lot of good publicity from my run and several people have been in touch since to offer support and further financial aid. All in all, I think it was much more rewarding doing it this way.

Anyway, I should be going - I'm training up for my next challenge... next year I'm climbing Everest! I've caught the bug! You'll never call me couch potato again like you used to! In fact, it seems like I'm the active one now. When was the last time you did some exercise?! Only joking!
