Dr. Saliha Afridi of The LightHouse Arabia said that humans being naturally curious are drawn to trying new trends without thinking of consequences. She added that the need to conform makes people susceptible to irrational thinking, especially when one’s favourite influencer or group are doing something that is trending.

As reported by the Daily Mail, a five-year-old girl has already fallen victim to the game and suffered severe burns to her body when she thought she could be turned into a “fire fairy” as promised online.

 The social media post says: 'At midnight when everybody is asleep, get up from your bed and go around the room three times, then say the magical words: "Alfey kingdom, sweet little fairies, give me the power, I'm asking you."

'Then go to the kitchen silently, so no one notices you or the magic of the words will disappear. Switch on the gas stove, all four burners. But do not light it. You don't want to get burns, do you?

'Then go to sleep. The magic gas will come to you, you will breathe it while sleeping and in the morning, when you wake up, say: "Thank you Alfeya, I've become a fairy." And you will became a real fairy of fire.'

'If I had not gone to check, our family of eight would not wake up in the morning.

'I talked to her and she promised not to hide her plans from me and tell me everything.'

According to reports, the girl set herself on fire in her house. Her younger brother told the police that his sister was playing the game and then went on the first floor of the house. He said that a few minutes later, he heard her screaming and when he went up, he saw her engulfed in flames. Their parents had gone out for work when the incident took place. The brother called out for help after their neighbours came in and doused the flames.

The girl was taken to the hospital but she died on the way. The body has been sent for post-mortem
