I like the debrief and feedback. With TKES we never really met to talk about what went well and what did not. The debrief gives the teacher the ability to explain some of the things that came up in the observation!

I like that the standards are tiered for different teacher levels. There are less standards to juggle at a time.

I like the debrief meeting. It allows the teacher to defend or explain what happened during the lesson. It also allows a conversation with the admin about future expectations or events coming up.

I like that teachers are aware of the evidence that is being looked for. If a teacher is observed and the observer does not see what they are looking for, the teacher is easily able to bring that evidence with them to the debrief.

The debrief meeting allows a discussion between the teacher and principal about the lesson being taught to the students. It also gives the opportunity to discuss the grows and glows.

The targeted teacher performance standards are clear and concise. I really like the way that the "targeted expectation" for novice teacher year 1 through year 4 veteran teacher. The rationale being there should be a variety of focus according to your teaching experience.

Observations expectations have many "moving parts", therefore, subjectivity may become an accidental component. The information provided in the debrief really shows that components have been put into place to address during observation.

The badge names are often the same even though you read the small print and see that there are two different badges with two different indicators.

The feedback session is more reliable.You can explain that the lesson observed is two part or that this artifact will enable the students to scaffold into the next level for mastery.
