         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Definition: </strong>On June 6, 1944 the Allies invaded western Europe/Normandy in the largest amphibious attack in history. <br><strong>Importance:</strong> The Allies did this because they wanted to distract Hitler and ultimately get him in a 3 front war. There were 5 phases of the attack. These were the air drop, art of deceit, aeriel attack, naval attack, and the invasion.</div>]]></description>
