-Johnson's presidency is defined greatly by the controversy over his involvement in the Vietnam War. Many look down on his decision to implement more troops in Vietnam, which led many American lives to be sacrificed.
-Johnson is also remembered for his installment of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. This act prevented discrimination based on race, sex, and religion. It was a massive step forward in the Civil Rights movement because it created more equality
-In 1965, Medicare was established by Johnson. It acts as a health insurance program for the elderly and disabled. It has provided many benefits for those that apply, still being used today.
-Johnson's presidency also introduced the 25th Amendment, which calls for the Vice President to take the position as President if anything should happen that prevents the President from being in office. The sudden transfer of power that came from John F. Kennedy's assassination made this law necessary.
