Bessemer was a known inventor and engineer. Bessemer developed many inventions but one of his most famous was the first process for manufacturing steel quicker and cheaper. In 1856 Bessemer developed an invention for steel in Sheffield. It was later known as the "Bessemer Process."

He then started his own steamship company and eventually became one of the country's largest steamship operators. Vanderbilt is a self-made multimillionaire shipping and railroad tycoon.

Fulton was sent to a Quaker school at a young age. He then became an apprentice in a Philadelphia jewelry shop. Robert Fulton later then became one of America's most known inventor. Fulton brought the steamboat from experimental stage to success. It was the first successful steamboat built. Fulton also designed a system of inland waterways.

As an apprentice he gained knowledge of cotton manufacturing. Slater then immigrated to the United States in 1789. Where he later designed the first textile mill and started a business in Rhode Island.

It wasn't soon that Rockefeller turned to the oil business. In 1863, Rockefeller opened up his first refinery in Cleveland. Which further on led him to be a successful business man.
