During this time, the economy went from bad to worse and some of the Islanders emigrated to the U.S. Voting rights were limited until 1936 when worldwide suffrage was given. The status of the Virgin Islands today is unincorporated territory under the administration under the Federal Department, but with some government in a number of fields.

The United States started to segregate the black and whites there. Also they were unable to vote even though they were taxpayers.

The oil refinery was the USVI's largest source of employment. Employment has fallen more than a total 10% since then.

The USVI use U.S american dollars. Their government divisions include Corporations & Trademarks, Office of the Tax Assessor, Division of Banking & Insurance, Recorder of Deeds, Passport and Medicare. 

The population is around 104,737 people.

They have a few fast food places. At the end of some corners they will have someone selling fish. The sports they play are Baseball, Basketball and Football. Most of the religion there is Baptist and Catholic.  Most of the stories the Islanders tell are about spirits that walk around in people homes.
