Issues were raised concerning the lighting in Chapman corridor/toilet so we arranged to recce this with lighting, DoPs, sound and ADs present

Getting Formby will be difficult as it is owned by the National Trust. Decided to get permission for Saint Annes North Beach instead.

We have decided to use Allerton A106 as Patricks classroom as this is available to us for the whole 2 weeks

we were granted permission so long as we did not use hot water when Lisa makes her tea.

Together we decided that:

• Jason proposed on the beach, pre cancer, for their 3 year anniversary.

• He was diagnosed soon after and died within 6 months.

• He did not take the palliative care offered to him.

Creating this imaginary back story helps to create spontaneous and truthful reaction (Churcher, 2011).

I got a patch test from the make up department to find out what make up I would be wearing and if their was any of my own I needed to bring (I provided my own concealer).

This helped me to get a better understanding of the directors vision and to learn some blocking.

My main aim was to show a difference in her demeanour from previous scenes which was a challenge as I had not yet filmed those scenes. Knowing the script well helped.

Though I did not speak much in this scene I tried to show Phoebes conflicting feelings of love for her friends and jealousy of their relationship.

As well as remembering lines and reacting to Mei, I tried to keep my focus on Mei's right eye (which was closest to the camera) so my eyes would be focused and still.

We found another tree to film under which was a challenge as the park was so busy.

To get the shot above I had to sit in a very awkward position, so as to be the right level for the camera and Matt.

This scene required drone shots - as I was walking from a distance I had to use walkie talkies to communicate with the crew.

I do not wear a coat in this scene, so I had to try not to shiver during takes. The crew were on hand to give me my coat between takes.

Hopefully I was able to show a stark contrast in her emotions from previous scenes to make her loss seem more real and more sad.

Having both Matt and Sophie to react to, as well as the clinical location helped the situation to feel more realistic. I feel this enabled me to give a more truthful performance.

I knew how I wanted to play the scene, so I was able to meet the emotional climax of the scene. However I feel I could have done better had I not been concentrating on getting the lines right.

I have learnt that there is a lot of sitting/standing completely still for an actor in a film shoot.

In future I will make sure to have my lines well rehearsed and I will ask to watch footage back to make sure I am happy with my acting.

I think I was successful in meeting the emotional requirements, showing character relationships and following the directors blocking/vision.

For example, I had to concentrate on putting the bucket down in the same place every time, cleaning the taps in the correct order and keeping my lanyard the right way.

The only place that did not come back to me with a permit was a Peel Park so in future I would like to ask for permission further in advance and find a way of getting in contact with them directly (I asked for permission via a university form so I did not have any contact details for the council).

Before this scene I want To play Phoebe as Grieving (but happy to have the ghost of Jason).

After this I want to show she is troubled and contemplative.

After she decides to give the ring away I want her to be determined and hopeful.
