Showing Multiple Sides of a Character

One of the most likeable traits about is how Cadence really takes things in without automatically going to the conclusion. She also has a lot of different sides to her. When Cadence is mad you can tell she is mad, but she doesn't cross the line. Authors use this type of technique, expressing characters from different sides, to make the book a lot easier to read because you understand it more. I personally know that if I know the character a lot better I understand not only the character but the book and the minor character like Gat, Johnny, and the other ones.

Minor Characters Progressing Plot

One of the most important minor characters is Gat. He is the boyfriend in the story. He helps progress the plot because there is one part in the book where he never responds to Cadence so she gets really mad so then they got back together. Gat is important because he helps Cadence through everything. He helps her by being by her side all the time. This helps progress the plot because if he is always there for her he helps her and makes the story more smooth.

Why does the author include stereotypes?

The author in my book, "We were Liars" shows stereotypes because it makes the book seem realistic. In life everyone judges people. Even if you don't mean to, you naturally do it. Johnny automatically judges Cadence for using pills and assuming she is a drug addict. He doesn't know that she uses those for major migraines. He judged her and jumped tot the conclusion that she is a drug addict. This is how the author in the book "We were liars" uses stereotypes.

A significant symbol in the book

A significant symbol in the book "We were liars" is the Clairmont House. This symbol is very important because it represented her Grandma. Her Grandma was very important to her family and her because when she died everyone got affected. Everyone argued more, they didn't know what to do with the money, they didn't even know what to do with the house. Cadence got the matter in her own hands. She burnt down the house. She did this because she wanted to have peace between the family and between her friends. This is a significant symbol in the book "We were Liars"

Author using craft technique to develop theme

The author in my book, e.lockhart, "We were Liars" uses craft technique to develop theme because the mood changes a lot of times because of what happens. When Cadence realizes Gat and her are separated she becomes depressed. When she doesn't know what happened she becomes very frustrated at herself, and the other person, in this case Gat. But when she figures out she becomes very sad but not depressed. On one of the final pages she realizes what she did wrong, takes it in and she accepts it. This is how the author used craft technique to set the theme, being grateful.
