         <description><![CDATA[<div>“The varsity sport for the mind,” First Robotics Competition combines the excitement of sport with the rigors of science and technology. Under strict rules, limited resources, and time limits, teams of 15 students or more are challenged to raise funds, design a team “brand,” hone teamwork skills, and build and program robots to perform prescribed tasks against a field of competitors. It’s as close to “real-world engineering” as a student can get.          <description><![CDATA[<div>The VEX Robotics Competition is a large and fast-growing global robotics program with a strong, established presence in British Columbia.&nbsp; Each year, an exciting engineering challenge is presented in the form of a game.&nbsp; In small teams, students design, build, and program their robots and then compete against other robots in tournaments held all around the world. &nbsp;<br><br>There are three leagues of VEX robotics competitions meant for different age groups and skill levels.&nbsp;We will be looking at VEX V5 which is geared towards middle and high school students.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>
