Het doel daarvan is om een kind, naast de uitdaging die in de klas wordt aangeboden, nog verder uit te dagen. Daarnaast wordt er ingezet op vaardigheden als leren leren, kritisch denken, plannen. Wie er mag starten in de kangoeroeklas wordt door de klasleerkracht, de directie en de zorgcoördinator bepaald.

 

De lessen die een kind in de klas mist, zullen op eigen houtje door het kind verwerkt moeten worden tenzij anders met de leerkracht werd afgesproken. De kangoeroeklas gaat elke maandag door van 13u tot 14.15u. Dit schooljaar telt de kangoeroeklas in totaal 4 leerlingen uit het 4de, 5de en 6de leerjaar. 

 

Wekelijks wordt er een opdracht meegegeven naar huis. Welke opdracht tegen wanneer moet afgewerkt wordt duidelijk gecommuniceerd. Het werk in de kangoeroeklas wordt driemaal per schooljaar beoordeeld op het rapport. Het is een vrijwillige ouder die zich engageert voor de werking van de kangoeroeklas.
