By selecting types of people that the audience would know it then becomes funny and induces laughter. We could also use these to create a tongue in cheek attitude in taking on the personas with added exaggeration to make comedy.

Another way we could use laughter as a weapon is to use it so the audience are shown hard hitting and deep issues such as trafficking, abuse or drink driving. They could then be made to laugh about it by the way it is delivered so that then when they realise the message it hits harder. This relates to the use of catharsis to provide a release from the emotions. For example showing was as a 'game' until the very end where the audience realise the effects.

Laughter can be used as a weapon to laugh at someone/something rather than with it. Therefore another idea for our devised would be to show an issue like bullying and how the laughter could actually effect the person. This could be in an abstract style where the personalities of the bullies are then heightened. Here also techniques from Frantic Assembly could be used to show the mental state of those being bullied and how it effects them.
