Develop a body of evidence that would support an argument in which you support or oppose same-sex classrooms for public high schools.

-- I'm Nick Cyze and back in 7th grade I went to a Co-Ed school. I had a smoking hot girlfriend named Maggie Jones. We were "goals". We had a great relationship, but our grades were not as great. We spent all our time talking with one another and flirting so our grades suffered. This was my personal experience of how co-Ed classrooms can be distracting.
-Some parents don’t want their children to be in mixed-gender classrooms because, especially at certain ages, students of the opposite sex can be a distraction.
-But single-sex education enhances student success when teachers use techniques geared toward the gender of their students.
-Advocates claim co-ed schools tend to reinforce gender stereotypes, while single-sex schools can break down gender stereotypes.
- Co-education can create social conformity among a students.

I have friends at Providence who are smarter than me but are not getting as good of grades even though we are in similar classes. That would be an example of personal experience and anecdote, which are first hand evidence.
In coed classrooms, boys were often the dominant group. According to a 3-year study by American University professors Myra Sadker and David Sadker in 1993, boys yell out eight times more often than girls and their opinions were often more valued than their female classmates. In the absence of boys, girls will have a greater chance to participate and get involved in the classroom discussion.
http://www.nea.org/tools/17061.htm
A weakness to the argument of same-sex classrooms is that it does not prepare one for a future in the job industry, where it pretty much has to be both male and female. This would be an example of common knowledge.

Although same-sex classrooms may benefit certain groups of students, there is undoubtedly a sacrifice of social interaction that entails. Sure, the whole school does not have to be same-sex, but without co-ed classrooms, the boys won't be able to build team-building skills with girls and vice versa. This may come to haunt them in future endeavors.

U.S. Department of Education reports that high school graduation rates are at an all-time high. In 2010, 78.2 percent of high school students graduated on time. However, many single-sex schools are reporting even more impressive numbers. Eagle Academy in New York, the state's first public all-male school, reported an 82 percent graduation rate for the same time period. Similarly, the Young Women's Leadership Charter School in Chicago reported a 100 percent graduation rate. Proponents say this is because students in single-sex schools are less distracted by their peers and surroundings.
Based on personal experience it is easier for a male to focus without the distraction of girls
