1. Productive struggle looks like students attempting the problem on their own.  It involves small groups to support and encourage students to try the problem.  It involves the parents understanding the process.  Providing students with the tools they need to attempt the problem. 

2. We need to have a conversation with students so they recognize it is ok to make a mistake and not understand. Students need to see teachers modeling productive struggle.
