Julianna is non-verbal and in a special day class. Her teachers say she is very smart and likes to be in control. Karen is verbal and can converse with others, has a lot of skills and enjoys interaction. Logan is in a mainstream class with a aid and is also verbal and can communicate his feelings.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The biggest change in the DSM IV vs the current DSM V is the change in the term pervasive developmental disorder to autism spectrum disorder.  DSM V also combines the social and communication dimensions into one category and includes a category for children who may have social communication deficits but do not have any repetitive behaviors or interests.</div>]]></description>

Lack of eye contact, being able to imitate or participate in nonverbal communication like pointing.
