Technology for teaching and Learning explores and teaches basic knowledge, skills and values in the positive use of technology (ICT) for teaching and learning. It shall include ICT laws, policies and regulations, safety issues, media and technology in various content areas, learning theories and principles in the use and design of a variety of learning lessons, teaching-learning experiences, creating a safe and secure learning environment, assessment tasks that utilize appropriate traditional and innovative technologies, and reflection on the use of ICT to improve the teaching and learning process. Social, ethical and legal responsibility in the use of technology tools and resources shall also be addressed.

The different groups in this subject discussed Unit 1 to Unit 6 which is the introduction to technology for teaching and learning, uses of ICT policies in teaching and learning in basic education, theories and principles in the use and design of technology-driven learning lessons, ICT in various content areas, innovative technologies for teaching, learning, and assessment tasks, and social, ethical, and legal responsibilities in the use of technology tools and resources, among other related topics.

The first group discussed Unit 1 which is the introduction to technology for teaching and learning, in this unit Ive learned about the following: Technology, Information and Communication, Educational Technology, Technology, Media, and Learning, Instructional System and Instructional Technology Technology Tools and other related topics, they Also talk about the Roles of ICT in Teaching and Learning where I have learned that There are a lot of Technology Tools which may help us through teaching and learning. We should be able to provide efficient reports throughout the whole school year if we grab the help of this specific tools. We just have to learn how to use them efficiently.

The second group tackled Unit 2, the uses of ICT policies in teaching and learning in basic education. The group discussed about National ICT Policies, Laws and Regulations, Implementation of ICT laws, Policies, and Regulation in Teaching and learning Finding of ICT, Implication to Teaching and Learning Attributes of ICT Policy and its Significance, Information and Communications Technology (ICT) LAW and other subtopics. My main takeaway from their report is that Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Policies is a policy that is implemented by the authority government and its stakeholders that is committed to the process of bringing digital technology to all citizens in communities by that they can access to information.

Third group had a discussion about unit 3 which is all about theories and principles in the use and design of technology-driven learning lessons. They discussed about the Learning Theories and Principles in Dale’s Cone of Experience, TPACK, and ASSURE Model. With their report I have realized that 21st century teaching profession emphasizes and requires more competences which incorporates the growing demand on the use of technology in the classroom as well as the society. The idea of teaching methods and techniques used in teaching and learning processes in the used of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is enable to replace the cultural and traditional way of teaching and learning.

The fourth group reported about unit 4: ICT in various content areas, where they discussed about the 21st Century Literacy Skills, Instructional Design Models, Technology Enhanced Teaching Lesson Exemplars, ICT and Conventional Learning Materials to Enhance Teaching and Learning, Distance Learning, Technology Tools in a Collaborative Classroom Environment and Relevance and Appropriateness in the Use of Technology in Teaching and Learning. With the discussion I have learned a lot including information and communication technology (ICT) can significantly enhance the human and social capabilities of the poor and have a positive impact on their well-being. ICTs can enhance the individual and collective agency of the poor; strengthen their existing personal or community assets; and enhance their information capabilities also, ICT has huge range functions in education such as learning tools, administration and information sources.

The fifth group discussed Unit 5 which is the ICT in various content areas, innovative technologies for teaching, learning, and assessment tasks. They have discussed about ICT and Assessment in Learning – Assessment Tools, Tools in evaluating appropriate assessment tools, and Technology-Enhanced Lesson using the ASSURE as Technology-Integration Model. The best thing I have learned is about the ASSURE model which is a set of instructions that helps teachers incorporate technology and media into lesson planning and instruction delivery. Additionally, it refers to a methodical method of creating lesson plans that aids teacher in planning out their teaching strategies.

Lastly, the sixth group discussed about Unit 6 that tackles about social, ethical, and legal responsibilities in the use of technology tools and resources, among other related topics. Under this broad topic they tackled about Digital Citizenship, Social, Ethical and Legal Responsibilities in the Use of Technology Tools and Resources by Teachers, Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Applicable to the Educational Setting: Copyright and related Rights Copyright Law, Digital Safety Rules, Cyber bullying, Netizens in Cyberspace: Active Citizenship Netiquette, Educational Sites and Portals, Online Communities of Learning, Online Resources, Collaborative projects i.e. The Problem-Based projects or Project-Based Project and Technology Tools for Collaborative Work. With this report the best thing I Have learned is that there are laws that goes beyond technologies that we have to follow because it comes with a certain punishment if you didn’t.
