         <description><![CDATA[<div>- Pondicherry can be spelled Puducherry, Pondicherry, Putucceri (original name), or Pondichéry <br>- It's a pretty new territory compared to most, only having been formed in 1962 <br>- It was formed in 1962 out of the four former colonies of French India <br>- It didn't do too well at first <br>- After it was set up by the French, it went on to be captured by the Dutch, retaken by the French, destroyed by the British, and then rebuilt by the French <br>- The original name, Putucceri, comes from the Tamil words putu (“new”) and peri (“village”) </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>-feet and shoes are considered dirty and should not be worn in homes or temples<br>-left hands also considered to be unclean and are not generally used to eat or make food<br>-waving to people is not seen as a greeting but rather a denial<br>-not socially acceptable to wear tight, revealing clothes, instead clean pressed and conservative clothes are more acceptable<br>-eating beef or wearing or using leather is either illegal or insulting since cows are considered sacred animals<br>-putting your hand over your heart is seen as a greeting gesture means god is in my heart and greets the god in your heart<br>-being late is considered normal, while being early or even on time is rude</div>]]></description>
