They get a special "I Can" golden can on their desk and a special pointer. By breaking down the vocabulary all together, students internalize the meaning of the learning target at a deeper level. At times, we discuss the purpose behind the learning target. The purpose really helps students focus in on why the learning target is important to understand. If not, we know we'll need to revisit next time. I feel it really is a nice way to begin and close a lesson, helping students to own the learning😀
