I think Singapore has a very innovative and effective solution to the garbage problem. It could provide a model for the rest of the world. The word 'trash' has a negative connotation for many people, but we should see trash as raw material that could be used to create something new. Nothing is ever wasted. I saw this in Kenya when I lived there. People used EVERYTHING to make their homes, supply their transportation, and clothe themselves. Check this out:

Disposal of trash is one of the major environmental problems faced by most of the countries. Every country has their own procedure of disposing garbage. Most has not been successful in terms of proper disposal of trash. However, there is one country that has been successful, and this is Singapore. The idea of Singapore is very helpful to resolve the disposal of waste. Other countries can copy it. In fact, in the Philippines, garbage is everywhere, and there is no place to dump it because most of the landfills have already a pile of waste that cannot hold another large amount of it. Moreover, the law about proper garbage disposal is not intensely implemented, so most of the people don't recognize the law about proper disposal: segregation of bio and non-biodegradable materials. Therefore, the solution of Singapore about garbage disposal is useful to protect the environment: Mother Earth.

Today, the world is facing environmental issues about disposing garbage. Even though most countries have their own way to solve these issues, it is hard to find successful solutions in the world, except for one country: Singapore. According to the reading, there is an artificial landfill island, which is made of ash from an incineration plant; They incinerate non-recyclable garbage. However, surprisingly, the ecosystem and the environment of the island. I think that this idea should be spread to the world. Also, many countries need to devise creative and sustainable ways of the safe disposal of trash as Singapore did. Moreover, this is the problem which should be resolved from people as well as the governments. They need to recognize this environmental problem, follow the laws about recycling, and reduce the amount of garbage.

I state that Singapore’s project is certainly innovative. Moreover, it is a great example of human genuine which helped to solve garbage issue; also, it has expanded the Singapore’s territory. Even though considering the fact that territory of Singapore is not quite vast, the government of this country was forced to search for the solution because they don’t have enough territory to keep all of the garbage. Consequently, it could cause the contamination of the natural resources in this region, and people’s life style could be changed too because of some negative effects of garbage influence. Fortunately, the solution was found, and the new recycling campaign started to work successfully. As a result, garbage like glass, plastic, electronics and concrete are being recycled; besides, the organic was transformed in ash. In addition, ash was used as building material in constructing the new island, and this concept is going to expand the Singapore’s territory. As for me, this new idea is really beneficial for all countries around the world because it solves two issues. The first is about Garbage issue, and the second one is about territorial expansion because some countries are really overpopulated, so it is really helpful for certain countries like Singapore.

Nowadays, many countries around the world are trying to find the good solution to waste management. Singapore is the country that has the most innovative solution to solve garbage problem. They didn’t plan to design an island that attracts travellers because they think that the garbage disposal is the most important. They created the best waste management in Pulau Semakau island, and it has not signed of contaminated water into the ocean; as a result, this leads to diverse ecosystems on it. In my opinion, this is a good example for a waste problem that the rest of the world should do that, especially Vietnam. Vietnam is a developing country, so the waste disposal problem is not still completed. A number of families don’t classify trash before they throw away, so this has increased the burden on the government. In addition, local landfills don’t have more room for the huge trash of each city; therefore, we have to incinerate garbage even though we know that it is harmful to the environment. In conclusion, I hope Vietnam and the rest of the world should copy the Singapore’s innovative solution to create a cleaner environment.

I believe that the Garbage of Eden from Singapore is a brilliant idea, because it doesn't pollute the environment. The Pulau Semakau is very important because stimulate us to innovate our custom of waste management. Something interesting about this is the fact that Singapore find a place to eliminate the garbage and maintain the conservation of the environment at the same time. Furthermore, the Singapore creates a new ecological space, where the nature is thriving and the animals can live. And it is also a tourist attraction which increases the local economy. Actually, it is exactly what our society needs, because, unfortunately, we are living in a wasteful society, where everything is disposable and the result of this is a lot of waste. Certainly this example keeps me thinking about recycling and ecological ways of doing it especially when I read that the sea didn’t had any pollution at all. What makes me think that recycling is possible we just have to figure it out how. Moreover, the example of the Garbage of Eden from Singapore should be published all over the world so people can create new ways of throwing away our garbage in an ecological way, where the environment won't be damage. Perhaps building an island will be very expensive but I’m sure that we can find another way.

(Hello Donna, I thougt about that also. And I think that poor countries would have to create another way of waste management.)

Sustainable development of environment has arisen the public's attention around the word when the environment pollution got caught in vicious circle. That causes irreversible damage, such as destruction of ecosystem and the extinction of wildlife. Thus, disposal of waste or trash is a daunting task for governments and individuals.Taken Singapore's landfill for example, they recycled as much of its trash as possible then incinerated it, then they tackled ash problems by coining the cells located in artificial island. Meanwhile, they also tested water samples in order to guarantee that there is no contaminated substance polluted sea.The most critical point is they generated the sustainable urbanization which conserves the natural resources and biodiversity. Additionally, it is also a recreation place for relaxing. The way how Singapore balanced the life between the environment and landfills should raise the mass' awareness of our individual power in reducing trash. In my view, decreasing a great deal of rubbish is a prime solution instead of building more landfills. As citizen, we can bring our own bags for shopping rather than buying plastic bags;besides, why do not us bring our own cup and less coffee cup or bottles.we also need to be educated about categories of trash and stop over exploiting natural resources.Preserving the environment not only yields substantial benefits for our lives but also benefits the next generation.

People are now making an active effort to resolve the garbage more than they used to. It is of great importance to deal with the country refuse properly. As is encouraged to protecting the environment, the artificial island of Singapore is a good example for the whole world to study. It can save the money and the time for a country to deal with rubbish and it also can enhance the quality of people life. What's more, it is no doubt that Singapore create an environment-friendly place. Not only the space has been saved, but also the risk of the environment of pollution also be greatly reduced. Certainly nobody wants to see our space and resources used up and our planet poisoned by waste. From the artificial island of Singapore, we should notice that the process of garbage disposal also need keep the balance between the economic growth and environmental protection. Only in this way, our earth could be a better place to live in.

The goverment made an effort to build this island and got a return. Nowadays, Singapore has became a model to show the combination of wisdom and technology. In my view, Singapore has made a great contribution to the world in the garbage disposal，and also it is a good example for other countries can use. There is no doubt that the whole world should pay thier attention to some gabage issues, it not only influence our living environmental right, but also has an unexpected danger to our future life. The way Singapore for solving the garbage maybe also can be used for my country China. Because a large amount of population, trash can be seen everywhere, I hope that the Chinese government can attach importance to this issue and adopt singapore's approach.

Singapore has a great landfill that other countries should learn from it. Especially they create an artificial island to recycle and manufacture the garbage. Also, they make the island to become the truism place. I believe this is the best way to reduce and safe our earth. As a citizen, we can safe our earth by doing recycle and separate the garbage. Perhaps we can build an huge island that enough for every countries to put their garbage and manufacture it in the future. To keep our earth better.

However, ocean occupies about 70%. We can exploit ocean resource. They creat a artificial island for dumping groud. It doesn't occupy land's resource, and doesn't destory land's environment. Ocean's recovery power is stronger, so it is a great solution.
