         <description><![CDATA[<p>This festival is celebrated by the Nyishi tribe of Arunachal Pradesh. "<mark>Nyok</mark>" means land while "<mark>kum</mark>" means togetherness, ultimately meaning inviting all Gods and Goddesses of the universe for <mark>better productivity, prosperity and happiness of all human beings</mark>.</p><p><br></p><p>The Nyishi tribes believe prosperity and happiness of man can come when God and nature are pleased. Thus, these Gods can <mark>ward off the malevolent spirits</mark> potentially ruining one's life.</p><p><br></p><p>The men dress in a cotton <strong>eri</strong> robe draped from the shoulder and reaching the thighs. The women also dress in their finery of <strong>par ej</strong>, earrings bead necklaces, topped with a headdress made of fine bamboo. Dances and singing takes place before the head priest (Nyubh) enters. Guests are also warmly welcomed with rice paste powder and "opo" (millet seed beer which is scooped in dried gourd ladles).</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>A festival celebrated by <mark>Buddhists</mark> in Arunachal Pradesh from 14 to 16th April, in the last days of the old year and the New Year begins on the day just after the end of the festival.</p><p><br></p><p>It marks the <mark>Tai New Year,</mark> people splash clean water as a symbol of peace and purity. Thus, Sangken has always unfolded the message of <mark>peace, harmony and unity.</mark> People get together and spread their values of their cultures and traditions.</p><p><br></p><p>Water is poured on all holy objects and even the monks to invoke their blessings for good health, luck, peace and protection of mankind from the evil throughout the year.</p>]]></description>

They cook their rice in hollow bamboo over hot coal to give it a special flavour.</p><p><br></p><p><mark>Bamboo Shoot</mark>: It is used in dishes of boiled vegetables, cooked meat, pickles and chutneys because of its delicate flavour.</p><p><br></p><p><mark>Pika Pila</mark>: A type of pickle made by the Apatani tribe. It is made by bamboo shoot and pork fat with a little of King chilli.</p><p><br></p><p><mark>Lukter</mark>: A combination of cooked dry meat and chilli flakes.          <description><![CDATA[<p>As Arunachal Pradesh is a tribal state, it showcases immense diversity in its cultural attire.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Traditional Attire</strong>: The <mark>Adi tribe</mark>, which resides in the sub-tropical regions of Upper Siang, East and West Siang, Dibang Valley and Upper Subansiri, wear jackets and woollen clothes to keep themselves warm. The clothes of both men and women are made of deerskin, bearskin and cane skin.</p><p><br></p><p>The <mark>Monpa tribe</mark>, residing in the districts of Tawang, are very popular for their "skull caps". Their skull caps are made out of laces and fringes. People wear a sleeves chemise tied at the waist paired with a long jacket.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>The ornaments use glass beads, bird feathers and wings of beetles.</p><p><br></p><p><mark>Men</mark> are usually equipped with a helmet-like cap which is waterproof decorated with bird's feathers, boar teeth or even beaks dyed red. Along with that, they also wear bracelets or waistbands decorated with coins. Ivory and Animal bones are used to create pendants and necklaces.</p><p><br></p><p>For <mark>women</mark>, they wear brass bangles, cane anklets and even have a disk of brass which represents the wheel of life (in Adi tribe) and wear it till the birth of their first child. Shell necklaces also have a cultural importance, they are passed down from mother to daughter and are regarded sacred.</p>]]></description>

Group dances are mostly practiced, restricted to men.</p><p><br></p><p>Such as, the<mark> Idu Mishmi ritual dance</mark>, which is a fertility dance performed on the last day of the Rren ceremony. It is performed by the priest or the priestess.</p><p><br></p><p><mark>Ponung</mark> is also a folk dance practiced in Arunachal Pradesh. In this, women of Adi tribe perform a dance seeking a good harvest and welfare of the village.</p>]]></description>

Once the song begins, everyone who is present starts singing, bringing a sense of unity and togetherness.</p><p><br></p><p><mark>Baryi</mark>: This song narrates the Pailibos' history, religious lore and mythology. It is also performed in festivals or important social gatherings.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p>]]></description>
