It also offered me time to think more about what viewers would want to know and how I can represent each person in my story. In my story telling notebook, I can not bring my characters alive and allow them to move freely throughout the classroom and show their movement. Though I think about what I want before making a story or writing it out, story making is more free. You are not constrained to art products or how things "should look or be done". It allows for more individuality and tells more about the writers lifestyle and way of thinking. I enjoyed making a scene out of loose parts better than drawing in my notebook. I feel when I draw in my notebook I focus on what my drawing look like and not the story behind the drawing. When making a scene out of loose parts you can go as big or as small as you would like. I feel like using loose part there can be more room for imagination. Both in the notebook and loose parts are wonderful ways for children and adults to tell stories. It almost made me feel more immersed in the story because it is a physical representation. I also found it easier to tell the story because it seemed more realistic to me actually having the scene set up. I would say the only limitation was the way I took the picture. I was doing it off my laptop so the scene does not exactly look like how it does in real life. The similarities in coming up with a story was I was still able to visualize in my head different ways that I could set it up just like I did in my drawings. The biggest difference was the actual representation. It also enabled me to feel stronger in my creativity due to me not having to worry about whether my drawing was "good" or detailed enough; I was just able to find items that represented what I wanted to tell in the story. I felt a lot of the same storytelling processes between the loose parts activity and drawing in our storytelling notebooks such as having to mentally map out where I wanted items/people to go in my story and what the most important scene I was trying to portray in a single shot. A difference I noticed when using the loose parts as part of the storytelling was that I wanted to move around my objects more; almost as if to perfect the scene and make sure everything was in a functional position. Whereas when you draw a story, you don't have to worry about someone physically  "fitting through a door" or "sitting on a chair." This was a super fun activity and I cannot wait to share this with the children I work with in the future! :)

I enjoyed making a story more than drawing one because I didn't have to worry as much about my horrible drawling skills. I feel that creating it still required more of my  fine motor skills moving all of the small pieces just like with writing does. I was able to be more imaginative with using loose parts to for the representation of something, as well. I was difficult to find loose parts to use for my store because all of my arts and crafts are pack away in storage. I felt that it was equal with drawing or creating in the process of coming up with a story. As I 'made' my story, I found that I was able to incorporate certain objects to help illustrate my story that I might have not known how to draw. For example, I might have spent a lot of time trying to draw birds to include in a written story. With making a story, I was able to use these feathered balls I randomly found in my house to fit that role! I struggled to find loose parts that fit my idea at first, but once I let go of the "vision" I had imagined for this story, I found that I was able to include objects that were a little bit different but still told a great story! Something that I liked about this process was that it reminded me again how storytelling is an art.
