It is caused by infection with one of the Ebola virus species.  These include: The Zaire ebolavirus, Sudan ebolavirus, Taï Forest ebolavirus, and the Bundibugyo ebolavirus.

  • Increase your standards of  hygiene
  • Avoid bush meat. Do not purchase or eat wild animals, including nonhuman primates.
  • Do not come in contact with items that have been touched by an infected person. These include items such as clothes, bedding, needles and medical equipment.

Most common carriers of the Ebola virus include:
  • Urine
  • Breast Milk
  • Feces
  • Vomit
  • Sperm
  • Saliva

Once a person is effected with Ebola it will usually take about 21 days for the first symptoms to appear.
