I never had the bravery to tell my father how I felt. How I feel like he gives me nothing and how I am afraid of him. This is a big step for me. I'm tired of living in a shadow and being afraid. I had to step up even if I lost.

I care very much about my mother and growing up seeing her stuck in a shadow hurt me. I wanted her to be free to live without fear. She walked around doing everything my father told her to do. I wish she just see how she is in his shadow just like he got me. His whole life he has been putting on a fake face for his dad. Living in Troy's shadow. He finally got the courage to step up to Troy and tell him how he feels. Which is hard and I think Cory got to a point where he couldn't take it no more and had to let it all out. Which I think resembles Cory. The piece that is making the shadow is made with some many different things but the outcome is nowhere close to it. Which is like Cory; he pretends to be something he is not and in the end he is somebody else. "I don't want to be Troy  Maxson.  I want to be me." "You can't be nobody except who you are, Cory!"-Rose. 

I think throughout the whole play acceptance plays a big theme. Rose needed accept that Troy cheated and he had a child. Troy needed to accept who he was and what he did. Cory had to accept that not only was he like Troy but that Troy didn't love him and his family life was what is was.
