Dear Middle and High School Parents,

I hope this email finds you well and I hope you enjoy the QingMing Festival Break. My name is Ms. Chien, and I am the Middle and High School Learning Support teacher. Today, I would like to share some valuable information about Executive Function (EF) and how we can utilize EF to motivate our teenagers at home.

To help you grasp a better understanding of Executive Function and its significance, I have created a video presentation. In this video, I will explain what Executive Function is and provide strategies that can be applied at home to motivate our teenagers. By understanding and leveraging the power of Executive Function, we can assist our teenagers in developing effective strategies and habits for success.

Motivating teenagers can sometimes be a challenge, but by working together and utilizing Executive Function, we can create an environment that fosters motivation and supports their learning journey. I believe that through our collaborative efforts, both at home and school, we can inspire and motivate our teenagers towards a successful and fulfilling learning experience.

My objective is to gain a deeper understanding of how teachers utilize data to inform and tailor their lessons for differentiated instruction.

As for determining the evidence to collect, I am currently unsure and seeking guidance on what specific data or information would be most valuable in assessing and documenting the effectiveness of differentiated instruction strategies in the classroom.

By incorporating data-driven decision-making into her teaching practice, Ms. Chien ensures that interventions are targeted and aligned with students' specific areas of growth. This approach allows her to track students' progress over time and make informed instructional decisions based on the data collected.

Through regular check-ins, Ms. Chien maintains ongoing communication with students, providing them with valuable feedback and support. By continuously monitoring their progress, she can identify areas where additional interventions may be necessary or where adjustments to existing strategies can further enhance student learning.

Evaluating the effectiveness of interventions every 6-8 weeks allows Ms. Chien to gauge their impact on students' achievement of SMART goals. This assessment ensures that interventions remain aligned with students' evolving needs and enables Ms. Chien to make any necessary modifications to optimize their effectiveness.

• The first student focused on increasing their ability to complete independent tasks.

• The second student was improving their work motivation.

• The third student aimed to enhance his use of strategies to help transfer his verbal thinking into writing.

1. Time on Task: One student focused on improving their ability to stay engaged and complete tasks within set timeframes.

2. English Learning Disabilities: Another student aimed to develop strategies to overcome challenges related to their English learning disabilities.

3. Self-Regulation: The third student worked on enhancing their self-regulation skills to better manage their emotions and behaviors during class activities.

1. Verbal English Usage: The student will increase the use of verbal English in the classroom through participation, engagement, and conversations with peers and staff.

2. Effort and Time Management: The student will give maximum effort and effectively use the allotted time to work on tasks, aiming to improve academic endurance and confidence in their ability to learn.

3. Study Skills and Reading Strategies: The student will enhance study skills and reading strategies by utilizing graphic organizers, text-to-speech, speech-to-text, note-taking, and summarizing techniques independently. This will support improved comprehension and critical thinking in both written and verbal responses and discussions.
