I lived in Siargao, Philippines as a Multigrade Teacher in Dagohoy Elementary School.

When I started teaching, it was as if I was struck by lightning. It was like a fire that triggered what I wanted. That is where I discovered my passion. A passion to teach, discover, and nurture the talents of my students.

I am Crisanto O. Domingo, a mathematics teacher at Badipa National High School, Urdaneta City, Pangasinan, Philippines. I am SUM-ONE (Solving and Understanding Mathematics – Oddities in Numbers and Expressions) who will and always teach my students to learn to love and like mathematics.

Hello! I am Princess E. Mahinay, Senior High School Teacher II of San Vicente School of Fisheries, San Vicente, Northern Samar.

I am MA. ARLYN L. SALVALOZA, from Badiang, Anilao, Iloilo, Philippines. Formerly, I am an Administrative Aide IV from the Local Government Unit of Anilao but since teaching is really my passion and I do believe it’s also my calling, here I am a GRADE 10 TEACHER at Anilao National High School-Region VI, Schools Division of Iloilo. 

Being a teacher is one of the most rewarding careers on earth. Why? Because seeing a child’s progress and grow no matter their background and abilities bring great joy to us. As a teacher, we can teach every child in the world, but to prove that one child can make a difference and the impact we brought for their lives can stay with them throughout their years, that’s a magic a teacher can brought right before their eyes.

We, teachers, are called many things: educators, mentors, instructors, and sometimes the accidental mom. No matter what they are called, we can all agree that they truly have a gift of influencing lives both inside and outside of their classroom. Everyone can recall at least one special teacher, if not more, that has profoundly impacted their life. Teachers are the awe-inspiring, rock stars of education. We work tirelessly to enrich the lives of the next generation. Our devotion, hard work, and eternal positivity never go unnoticed. As I quote in this passage for —William Arthur Ward,  "Teaching is more than imparting knowledge; it is inspiring change. Learning is more than absorbing facts; it is acquiring understanding."

Though I always thought of quitting this profession, I know deep down inside, my heart belongs to teaching. It is my home.

Though sometimes I feel unmotivated and frustrated, I know my passion will still burn after a few days of rest.

Hello everyone! I am Ma. Chandy G. Rendaje, Teacher II of Bingawan National High School, Schools Division of Iloilo, Philippines. I am a Grade 12 TVL teacher/adviser teaching Computer Systems Servicing. I love teaching so that is why I am eager to learn something new in this course. As a teacher, I can be a lifelong learner, and being an educator allows me to keep learning and growing in knowledge. All of these are for my beloved students to spark their interest and help them understand that they are unique, intelligent, and capable of learning no matter their ability. Also to discover their talents and feel great about themselves.

My life as a teacher can somehow be compared to my photographs. There are moments that are not so pleasant as a sunrise view. There are also moments that can be compared to capturing rainbows and butterflies. There are also moments that I experience dark days because of the unending online trainings, virtual meetings, SLAC sessions, bulk of paper works to comply and meeting deadlines that are long dead.  The exhausting days of printing SLMs, preparing DLLs and WHLMP and so on. But then again, I always see the beauty of it. I think of my purpose as a teacher and that is to give light and hope to our dear learners amid the crisis we are experiencing today. The joy and fulfillment I feel seeing my learners learn in spite of the challenges they’ve encountered form slow internet connection for online learning, following strict health guidelines and protocols, extreme weather conditions and many more. 7 years in teaching is still a very short time to fully experience the ups and downs of being a mentor. I still look forward to how DepEd will change me into a better teacher and excel well in my chosen career and I bet there’s a lot to be prepared and moments to be photographed to. 😉

I am fond of teaching kids basic computer skills which are often out of the grade level’s learning competencies particularly on graphics design and video editing.

With this influence to children, a continuous desire from them to pursue computer learning for the higher grade levels can be assured. Teachers should be models when it comes to hands-on teaching-learning.

Touching the heart of every learner will make a difference in their lives.
