Iraq was one of the hardest times for Americans. More than 700 soldiers were killed in action, but died with honors. Though this scene was banned from photography by the US government. Silicio couldn't stop herself, she snapped about 20 photos and sent them to her editor, quickly making front page of the Times. Soon, Silicio was fired and a large debate started. This photo was the representation of how serious this war actually was, and how many lives were lost and in everyone's eyes she was glorying that in order to get front page. The ban was later lifted, several years later.
