Summary: This video touches on how the united states is full of immigrants. In the beginning it touches on how people think that our country is so against immigration right now but the rest of the video proves that to be untrue talking how in touch with this concept our country is.

Complexity: Although this video is straight forward there are some parts in the vocabulary of video that seem to be complex for 4th grade. In this sense I would go over the vocabulary to help students better understand.
Instructional use: I would use this video in explaining different aspects of immigration today.

Summary: This book is full of amazing pictures and artifacts, specifically from Ellis Island. Through the pictures you can really see the stories of some of the immigrants that came to America.

Complexity: The complexity of this book is very high. based on the length of this book. However, the pictures and artifacts within the book arent as complex as some of the wording. If the students have questions on vocabulary or having trouble interpreting the pictures, it will be something we can work on as a class.
Instructional use: This book will mainly be used for the pictures within it and pictures of artifacts. Students will use this almost as an encyclopedia and analyze them to use them as reference within their stories.
