They send messages both to the audience and to each other. There is a constant battle between them to see who is better.
The message is to show what qualities Mercedes has (stability, aerodynamics) and Jaguar has (quick reflexes). By doing so, they are competing with each other to get better results and better sales, most likely. The message is both verbal and non-verbal.
Feedbacks are the companies' responses to each other, as well as the audience's reactions.
