The presence of trust is not only motivating, but it is also encouraging. When

trust is present, others feel safe to express themselves without punishment

and they feel empowered to create. In leadership, striving to achieve

trust from others only builds stronger relationships, leads to better outcomes,

and makes you as a person humble. But one fact to remember is that it takes a lot

of actions to gain trust and only ONE action to lose trust.

Travel

I believe that the world is full of amazing opportunities, and one can not live life without experiencing some of them. The castle pictured is neuschwanstein castle in Schwangau, Germany. This is the castle that Walt Disney had in mind when he dreamed up the Cinderella castle. I was able to see this castle first hand on my honeymoon in Germany. It was breathtaking

Nursing: A calling

Being a nurse is more than just a job for me. I am invested in my patient's and their families. When they hurt I hurt, when they achieve a goal I feel like I achieved a goal. Being a nurse not only brings me great joy, but it also brings me great heartache. But I believe if a "job" can make you feel that connected to people that you did not have a connection with prior, there must be an amazing purpose behind your existence.

Education

Education has become a passion of mine, and I hope that

I never lose the hunger to learn more. My educational

journey began at Highland Community College where I

majored in the Arts and focused on my nursing prerequisites.

From there I was accepted to Bradley University. I graduated with

my Nursing degree in 2010 and started attending graduate school in

2011. My current major is Nursing Administration.

Healthcare Experiences

During the span of my career, I have been involved in geriatric health,

mental health, and critical care. Currently I am in critical care, but I

will never forget the experiences I had as a mental health nurse. Mental health

is one of the most complicated fields because the signs and symptoms are

subjective instead of objective. Therefore, it was during this experience I learned

the importance of communication, listening, and moral support through

nonjudgmental treatment. I believe it was also that experience that allowed me to

understand the phrase "Mind Over Matter." If one's mind is not at peace, the person

can not be at peace.
