I think Jonas made the right decision to run away because the community enforces too many strict rules. Jonas leaving also helps the innocent citizens that are in the community by releasing all the painful and sad memories from the Giver back to them. They now learn about the truth and are saved. Jonas may have sacrificed himself but he did that to save his own community and his family.

Question: Did Jonas make the right decision to leave the community so early? I think that he made the right decision since he saved Gabriel from becoming released. Additionally, he unleashed a year's worth of memories to the citizens, causing them to experience something new and powerful, thus letting them live simply and normally, as the Giver probably would have guided the people on how to handle them.

Jonas experiences real emotions compared to the people in his community allowing him to be more knowledgable than everyone else. Although, he feels isolated from his friends because he feels love for them that they don't feel for him.

Why did Jonas think it was a good idea to leave the community? I think that he probably thought that his plan would go well when he confidently said, "No one will see me".

Sameness can stabilize the community and improve the efficiency just like another way of "DICTATORSHIP". But I do not think it can be Immortal. Even though it does, without feeling, emotion, and choices, this can lead to the downfall of HUMANITY.

If you were receiver what would you do?

I would stick to my job, but like Jonas, would likely break more than a few rules such as giving away memories.

HUMANITY is a quality we know, but cannot define.

Question: Why are people not given any memories in the Jonas community? What if it was given, will it help the community?

Ans: Jonas community doesn't want people in the society to feel the pain or any strong emotions, so they get rid of memories that bring those feelings, but when people have memories of war and lose they will know how to make peace with other countries. If they know hunger, they will have the responsibilities to cultivate enough food and know the value of food, if they were given the memories of love they will know how to protect each other whom they love and their may not be anyone released in the community and instead they know how to save their lives.

Do you think playing the war game is a correct thing to do?

A. I think it does not matter because except for the Giver, the citizens do not know the specific definition of the WAR.

In Jonas's community, "elsewhere" is like the afterlife. However, I think it is more of a symbol of hope for Jonas. It represents the "elsewhere" beyond the community, The place where there is freedom, memories, and emotion.

Q: Do you think playing a game of war is a correct thing to do?

A: I think playing a game of war is okay if it's actually a pretend and not causing actual harm.

Question: Should the game of war be played in the community?

Answer: I think the game should not be played because it represents war, which means killing and fighting, which is not good to play. The people of the community don't know what war actually means, and they use it for entertainment purposes. People shouldn't do anything if they don't know what it means. It could be heart-breaking when someone that knows what it means see people playing it. Imagine war happening in real life. We don't want this stuff to happen to us, so we shouldn't play it.

Q: What impacts will the Sameness make if it exists in our world?

A: Sameness brings both good and bad effects. Sameness limits people's freedom, it can include no color, no memories, no emotions and more. But one good thing about Sameness is that no one's gonna get harmed, they get protections which is the only good point about Sameness.

A: Of course, Gabriel would've died, so Jonas had to come to the nurturing center and save his life.

Answer: I believe that first, the community won't understand the qualities of choice and emotions, and they want to keep "sameness". This might cause them to push the memories away, and all chaos could break out. But as they bear the memories, they will come to realize that the emotions of the past was something that they never experienced, even all the hunger and warfare. They will love the memories of sunshine, color, warmth, and love, so they might want to keep it. Jonas has gained more knowledge by recieving memories, which caused him to start thinking for himself. This causes him to leave the community, lie and stop his medication, which also allowed for development in the community.
