This article gives advice about making a large space feel warm and cozy by putting emphasis on things like furniture scale, which helps to take up open space, and creating zones in a room, which can break up a big space and help efficiency by not dedicating one huge zone to a single purpose. It mentions points of emphasis as well, which we also learned about in a previous lesson. In fact, you can check off two items on this list by making wall art/decor your emphasis point, since filling up walls also helps when decorating a big room. - Sophie Joscher

This article has some good advice on how to fill a larger space. One suggestion I found useful was to put seating and tables in the middle of the room. In a very large space, putting the sofa against the wall looks awkward. You want to fill some of the empty space in the middle. Then you can line the walls with bookshelves, art, etc. Juliana Kresge.
