Chafee, &amp; Ed White<br><strong>MISSION OBJECTIVE:<br></strong>was to be the first manned mission of the moon landing program, designed to test out the setup by orbiting Earth.<br><strong>DATE LAUNCHED:<br></strong>February 21st, 1967<br><strong>The Apollo 1 mission did not make it to the moon successfully. There was a fire inside the space craft that tragically ended the journey.</strong></div>]]></description>

They landed in the  Mare Tranquillitatis area. </div>]]></description>

To conduct in-flight experiments and photographic tasks.<br><strong>DATE LAUNCHED:</strong><br>December 7, 1972<br><strong>ORBIT TIME:</strong><br>22 hours and 4 minutes <br><strong>ACTIVITY:<br></strong>Apollo 17 was the last Apollo mission to land men on the Moon. It carried the only trained geologist to walk on the lunar surface, lunar module pilot Harrison Schmitt.</div>]]></description>
