Today I decided to start making a website, recently I have tried to take on some personal projects that will improve my coding skills as my studies have become something I enjoy and I am taking up programming as a hobby.

I have no idea where I want to go with this project but as I find inspiration and generate new ideas I will update and change it accordingly.

I really like the parallax effect so I have decided to start with this as a foundation of how I should start building my layout. I tried using some old pictures I took but found out they're 1440x1080 which made them look pixelated on my 1920x1080 monitor.
Im going to go and take some cool pictures around my neighborhood so I can get some colour palettes going and fill the space in with meaningful images rather than placeholders and yea ill make my next move when I get to it, maybe I will turn it into a portfolio page to show the things I make in my own time and at uni.
Stay tuned for the pictures soon also im thinking of doing a time lapse because my area has some real dope places with powerlines over fields and stuff and also my mum has a nice camera :)

I set out today to take some photos so I could make some progress, I found a cool spot 2km from my house which is comfortable to walk to but there were strange people in the forest there so I left to avoid confrontation of any sort, as a result I only took pictures of ducks at the lake and I dont think any are really appropriate.

However here is a cool rock

I have made a side nav bar, its cool but I have to make a z-index to fix an opacity problem because it is overlapping an image, I will do this later today!

Update: I did the z-index thing but it ended up being useless as I removed the image. I'm finding it hard to implement a parallax image anywhere but ill manage.
I have wrapped my whole body in a flex container and will re organised it next time I do some work on it.

I have decided I want to make this website into a sort of portfolio tier page with a bit about me, I made a navigation bar and I like the idea but it looks silly in practice. The m in resume is so much wider than the other letters but idk if an icon could replace the word resume but having icons instead of words would solve the issue entirely.

Anyway heres a picture of it for reference and to compare to whatever I do when I fix it.

ok today was a big day of progress, I started from scratch and salvaged things I like such as colours and what not.

I like where the new design is going. The only thing im worried about is being scalable to adding new sections to the webpage as the clean aesthetics of the cover page (index/home) dont allow much room for slapping in random hyperlinks etc.

In the image below the semi circle spins around the name on a loop of 3 seconds per 360 aswell as the word resume having a "breathing" effect scaling it from 1.0 to 1.2 and back to 1.0 also in the time window of 3 seconds.

Ive been asking some of my friends for feedback on this but havent gotten much value out of it however they might be new to giving actual critique and would prefer to say haha yea dude its cool!!! anyway, I am writing this documentation in my break of working on this as im planning out the next step which is either going to be creating the resume page or adding in two other links, one on the left and one on the right probably saying something like about me and the other maybe logs with a change log of the website that I will eventually integrate from this blog to the site itself.
Ill probably work on some more tonight or maybe ill do some drawing idk but ill talk about it next post if I do anything dope :D

I thought 15/02 was a big day but in reality it was nothing compared to today.
I had thought about the issue of my page being scalable for other sized devices and bit the bullet by wrapping my whole page in a flex box. I then spent all day making sure that was all fine and the only thing I have left of this process is to make the spinning circle thing function under those circumstances too, it currently works on anything above like 500px screen size but alas that is not good enough. I added two buttons to the side and tried a lot of things which didnt really work out. I settled on a design im happy with which I will add an image of below. I plan to do more tonight as I want to start the changelog page to which I will start integrating the content from this blog over to my site.

In the picture below the circle still spins around my name and the words resume, about and change log breath which I mentioned in my last post.

I am unsure how I will structure my change log page but it will either be boxes that you can click to expand with the dates per change on it or maybe something like this blog I have no idea but I have a small whiteboard to draw up ideas on before I go and build things. Cya next time !!!

Im still going from the last post but its really the 20th since its past 12 at night.
I have decided how im going to do the changelog page and have implemented it, meaning this is the last padlet post for this project unfortunately. I take it back im going to run both parallel until I create some sort of way to login to admin controls and add more logs through the front end.

I will integrate my previous posts into it now and that will probably be it for the night.
