Residents of Kurtuluş Village  have  decided to build a school with their own facilities. For the construction, the stones have been moved to the current school garden on horseback and camel ridge. The school was built in 1947. In 1948, a teacher was appointed and education and training  started.

Previously the name of the village was CETREVIL . In 1951, 50 households of Bulgarian immigrants  were placed in our village . After that , the name of the village  became Kurtuluş and at the same time  the name of the school has become Kurtuluş Primary School. In 1973,  twenty kilometres north of the existing school  was started the ground floor of the new school  with the cooperation of the villagers and goverment. 

In 1974, the ground floor of the new school was completed and the education-teaching was started. The same year, the old school with decay report was destroyed.

After a year, the upper floor was built  and the service of education and training was started.  The new school had eight classrooms, an administrative room, a teacher' room,  and a room for using a storage.In 1975, two apartments for teachers  were also built as a teacher's residence. The school and lodgings was in a 7 acre area. The surrounding area was surrounded by briquette walls. In 1994, 3 cabins for boys and 3 cabins for girls were made by 6 cabins.

In 1993-1994 academic year, our school has become the center of Taşımalı primary education. Each year an average of 120 - 140 students are transported from the Garden, Çeltikçi, Sökün and Kurtuluş Villages of Hurma, Fındıklı and Çayır Districts. Since the lounges are not used, they have been serving as a  refectory  and the  other one as a kindergarden since 1999.

Since 2001, the existing building did not respond to the needs of the second grade students in Sökün Village school which was vacant between 2001 and 2007.  

 

This situation which was a difficulty in terms of education and training was welcomed positively in the result of the application. In 2007, our school had a benevolent owner, Şahin ÇOMOĞLU, who was a liberal Kurtuluş villager.  An additional building with 5 classrooms  was built with state contribution . The additional building has been in service since 2007.
