The Separatists leave Europe en route to America on the Mayflower.

The Separatists arrived at Plymouth Bay in America, several hundred miles north of Virginia. Before leaving the ship the men sign the Mayflower Compact, which was an agreement to follow the rules and laws that the group created. This was the first framework of government in America.
