Challenges: Formating the position of shapes and font sizes was really challenging. It also took a long time for me to choose the images I wanted to use.

Why did you choose this topic: I work at a public library and I am in charge of training new hires about storytime. I saw this infographic assignment as an opportunity to share quick information with new staff.

- challenges - My largest challenge was deciding on a topic. Once I got going, I was good to go.
- success - I hope that this accurately communicates to teachers and staff why flex scheduling can be beneficial to everyone.
- Why did you choose this topic -
WSFCS is making adjustments to their Media Coordinator position starting next year. Media Coordinators teaching time is supposed to be less than 50%. They will at least have to be partially removed from the specials schedule. They are also changing the Media Assistant position. In some schools, they won't have one. I imagine this will lead to a lot of questions from teachers in the schools. I hope that this will help answer some of those questions.
- How do you plan to use this infographic in your library program -
I plan to share this with the teachers and staff at the beginning of the year so that they know some of the ways a flexible schedule in the media center can be helpful to them!

Challenges: This is the first time I've ever made an infographic and also my first time using Canva. It took a bit to figure it out. It was also challenging to keep information simple enough for young students to be able to read and follow, but also informative enough to include all the details needed.

Success: I feel like this is a usable infographic that I could post in my school's library and I feel like now that I've done it I can create something even better next time.

Why I chose this topic: I wanted to create an infographic that I could immediately use in my school. As librarians, we get asked all the time, "how do i check out books?" This will help provide students that information in an easy-to-access format, if I'm not around to answer that question.

A challenge I faced creating this infographic was sizing and graphic placement. Things seemed to be off centered or too large . After a while I was able to set my images proportionally (I think lol)
I felt successful in the final product of my infographic as I felt it informed the reader very well about my topic and would help them make a decision about whether to try that type of lifestyle.

One of the challenges in creating this infographic was how to pare down the words. This topic is important to me as a former secondary ELA and English teacher who later became a reading teacher. I had such difficulty helping students to become more engaged readers until I discovered that many had trouble with basic reading skills or reading more complex academic text. Once I began my journey through evidence-based reading instruction, I found that it was difficult to keep buy-in from my older struggling readers because all of the materials were designed for younger students. Just getting my hands on what was available was a challenge, because many reading programs at the time deemphasized practice with decodable tools. When I stumbled across librarian, Marion Waldman's efforts to educate libraries and communities about reading development and how to work with tools like decodable texts to provide instruction and extended practice to people of all ages who are just learning, I knew I had to highlight it. I'm not sure I've figured out the best way to express all of this information in one infographic. Perhaps this would have made a better PSA, but it's a start. The video links and links to decodable resources SHOULD be accessible. I did have a hard time figuring out how to display this in a Padlet so you could interact with it.
