The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) replied, "Faith is that you believe in Allah; His angels; His books; His Messengers; The Last Day, and believe in the decree of Allah, both good and bad,” he said, “You are right.”

He asked again: “Tell me about ihsan.”

The Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam replied, “You should worship Allah as if you see Him. Even if you do not see Him, He sees you.”

The man said again: “Tell me when the Hour will occur?”

The Prophet said, “The one who is asked does not know better than the one who asks.”

He asked again: “Tell me about its signs!”

The Prophet said, “When a slave girl gives birth to her master; when you see a barefoot, unclothed person (poor) and a shepherd competing with each other in building a towering, magnificent building.”

Then the man left immediately. I was silent, until the Prophet asked me: “O Umar! Do you know who asked you earlier?”

I said, “Allah and His Messenger know better,” He said, “He is Gabriel who teaches you about your religion.” [HR Muslim, no. 8]

19. And be not like those who forget Allah, so He makes them forget themselves. Those are the transgressors.
