LU7 1. A very interesting chapter that stimulates the brain and really tests my understanding of limits and continuity. 2. To be honest the limits topic is quite confusing LU8 1. Throughout this LU, i have learnt a lot of new important things such as:Algebraic approach&graphical method, Piecewise function, square root function, absolute value function 2. I really love this chapter cause it help me in understanding the graphical method and algebraic method

1. First of all, thank you to the lecturers that helped me to learn this topic even though the teaching style was a bit rushy.
2. Limits and continuity. All my life learning math at school, I never know that ∞ actually can be so useful in math. I thought ∞ is just "infinite" and cannot be calculated because there is just so much numbers in ∞.
3. 1/0 = undefined
4. n/∞ = 0 , n belongs to any real numbers
5. Asymptotes is where a limit of a function in a graph is, where is cannot and can never touch the asymptote, only can approach. "Jodoh yang tidak kesampaian"
6. Continuity of a graph... If my understanding was right, continuity is a part of graph that is either continuous or not. For now I am quite unclear what jump continuity and removable continuity is.
7. In LU8, different function has different graph. But, this chapter is directly related to LU7 and LU2, which makes it interesting somehow for me. And the steps for drawing and determining domain and range from a graph is often not so difficult to do.
8. I never thought that inverse function is just a mirror of original function at y=x. Never. Which means that Df(x) = Rf-1(x)
and vice versa.
9. A inverse function that is not one to one can be made into one to one by limiting its domain right?
10. I never thought that f(x)=loga x is actually an inverse of f(x)=ax.
11. There is some circumstances that i think Domain of inverse function is not same with the range of original function that we have to limit it somehow to satisfy both function.
Hehehe I think I monologued too much..
Muhammad Amiruddin
A1800546

LU7 and LU8 are connected to each other. For example, both LU have vertical asymptotes and horizontal asymptotes. That is why, we have to really understand the concept in LU7 because the concept will be used again in LU8. In LU7, we can use two methods which are intuitive method and substitution method. Substitution method can only be used if the function is polynomial while intuitive method is used when the limit is undefined or does not exist. For LU8, the most important thing is to find the domain and the range. Besides, we also need to know how to sketch the graph. Basically, LU8 is the combination of LU2 and LU9.

Learning about limits was interesting to me as it was integrated in LU8 for example in sketching reciprocal function hence to find the asymptote. I have learned in LU7 that there are 8 properties of limits and 4 ways to solve limits. There are also two type of limits which are continuous and non continuous hence having the law or test of continuity.

As for LU8, what I've learned is that it's important to know the basic overview of a certain function and being able to visualize it provided that enough information is obtained and can be applied like finding the y-intercept and x-intercept. The only difficulty I find in the learning unit was on exponential function and logarithmic function, however, with enough exercises and sketching I will gain more understanding of the subtopic.

Nur Mahirah Jahizah binti Jamil
A1800852

In learning unit 7 , Limits and continuity, i have learnt the how to solve x in limits using several methods such as intuitive, factorisation, substituition and many more. in this LU , i also learnt about the vertical and horizontal assymptotes using infinite limits and limit at infinity and also how to determine the limits is continous or not. by understanding LU 7 actually helps me a lot in sketching the graph in LU 8. For example for certain graph in LU 8 required the vertical and horizontal assymptotes .Therefore, I do think that understanding LU 7 is helpful for me to understand LU 8.
Nur Hanis Binti Harith Sherifuddin
A1800826
