An assignment brief was issued for both pieces of practical work we have to complete. We have to make both and advert for the university centre and either a documentary or a music video, these are both individual projects. I also began planning the YCUC advert by filling in a risk assessment, a treatment sheet and an initial ideas sheet that are included in this Padlet document.

Week 2: This week we went out and started filming the footage for the YCUC advert, even though this is an individual edit we went out as a group to get the footage, we decided group roles before we started filming, Ollie was the director, Luke was the camera operator, Imogen was assistant camera operator, Chloe was in charge of the image release forms and I was the director of photography. We filmed for around an hour and a half, making sure we had shot footage of the key aspects of the university centre that needs to be included in the advert.

Week 3: This week i started to put together the edit for the YCUC advert, i got the footage off of the hard drive and made sure it was saved so i wasn't caught out with not having what i needed, we also watched an advert from a previous year to see what we could incorporate into our own adverts, the advert we watched was made by Chris Gaylard, the advert that he made looked very professional and well shot and very well edited, it included various shots and even an interview with a programme manager.

Week 4: This week I decided to research some music that i could use in my advert, i decided to go with royalty free music so i didn't need to get permission to use it. i have included screen shots of the music choices i found that i could possibly use in my advert, all of them were found on youtube so they are easily accessed.

Week 5: This week i completed the edit for my advert and received feedback for it, which i have included in this padlet, i decided to take the feedback into account and used the finished edit as a draft

Week 6: This week i started the planning stage of my music video, I have focused on the theme of my music video itself, I have decided that i will go with the theme of family and memories, I chose this theme because there is so much i can include, including archived footage and photographs, I started filling out some of the planning documents that are included in this Padlet. I have also included a synopsis of my music video that explains what I want my music video to be about and include.

week 7: This week I started the final planning of my music video, that included making the risk assessment documents and the filming schedule and finally deciding on a song to go with it, I decided to go with the song these days by Jess Glynne and Macklemore because I feel as though that song fit with the theme of my music video as a whole.

Week 8: this week I filmed the footage I need for my music video, I decided to film some footage at my sisters wedding because that was an event where all of the family were together at the same time so I could get footage of everyone that is going to be featured in my music video, the filming went well, I managed to get some good shots even though I had things like lightning and camera quality in my way.

Week 9: this week I edited my music video, I had every piece of footage, photographs and my chosen song on my memory stick, I used premier pro to edit my video, I wanted to keep the editing simple because I wanted the theme to not be overshadowed by too many crazy effects as the theme of my music video was a topic that needs very little crazy stuff happening in the video.
