its an absolute must for schools to provide learners with digital tools, the era we live in requires it and it makes doing assignments and test so much easier as well as  updating learners in any change in class schedule or lessons.

Bringing Cellphones and laptops helps the children to feel independent, i know that I personally felt really excited to bring my laptop on campus, and to sit in the lbrary will my fellow colleagues. It gave me a real "student life" feel.
 My Highschool got provided with 5 brand new laptops which came from the one and only Naledi Pandor ,of parliament, Where are these laptops, well they are stored away in the principals office.   Why not let the learners who dont have the resources at  home use these laptops for assignments.  Providing these technology tools , it makes the kids more advanced because our world is going into a technological era, where doing things online becomes compulsory.
Writing can be very tiring, so bringing cellphones and making notes can be usefull because students are very fast to type messages on whatsapp that it will speed up the class/lesson if they type the notes down on either their phone or laptop.

ofcourse there are disadvantages aswell, such as not all learners have the funds or means to have their own phone, laptop, or basically any technological resource.
