Explanation-  Walter always walks out and goes to the bar when things do not go his way. Walter likes to be alone when he is angry and upset. He will never take the blame for anything he does. Walter will always be the one to leave when things get tough. Explanation- Walter thinks he is always right and that there is nothing wrong with him at all. He is stubborn and does not realize that he has a drinking problem and he makes life tough for his family. He does not stop until he gets what he wants. I do and do not feel any sympathy for Walter because he could make himself happy but he always sees the bad in things, but sometimes I think he really tries but it never works out in his favor. I think he is a good person but he just does not know how to get out of his bad ways. Walter does not realize it is okay to fall down every once in a while.

A wonder is what it is.

This poem describes Walter because his family "speaks in gentle praise" and they are very elegant, but once you get to know Walter Young he is sometimes not gentle nor elegant. When he gets drunk he is "gross of speech." When he does not get his way or feels like nobody is listening to him he gets "stubborn, angry,"  and throws "fits and furies."

Mamas dream was to watch her family grow in religion and live the happiest life they could possibly live.
