I was reminded of these when learning about "fads and crazes" in the chapter (Thio, p. 409-410). Everyone had them at my daughter's school and Girl Scout Troupe. I probably have about ten of these lying around my home now. At least my daughter's enjoyed them while they lasted.</div>]]></description>

There are now such things such as 24-hour daycare facilities to accommodate for single mothers and/or parents that work unconventional work schedules/hours. According to our text, (Thio, p. 421), traditional societies (like the Amish pictured above), tend to be more integral than modern ones. People in modern societies tend to "achieve" their statuses as opposed to people in traditional societies that essentially inherit their skills as they are taught down each generation. Like farmers, herders, seamstresses, etc.</div>]]></description>

It is such a great thing to know that smoking has declined since I last quit.
