Students who go to St. John's University have access to this space, and those who do not go to SJU do not have access to this space. This is because the campus is made for students and teachers only. An ordinary person cannot just walk into campus. There is security to avoid this from happening. Allowing anyone to walk onto campus could lead to harm and potential danger. Additionally, the parking lots are not accessible to anyone, only those who have a St. John's Parking Pass could access the parking. This makes the campus more focused and modeled around the students that pay money and work hard in school in order to go here. If anyone was allowed, it would not be as much of a special experience.

I know that St. John's University is a college-level campus in Jamaica, Queens, New York. I know this because I worked hard to get into this school and am enrolled in the school. Something I may not know is every student that goes to this school, or everyone walking on campus. I also do not know all of the Professor's and other employees that work on campus. I could find out by taking more classes to meet more professors and make more friends, which would help me meet the Professors and students I see walking by. I could also spend more time walking on campus to get familiar with the people and my surroundings, rather than leave right when class is finished.

SJU has rules and regulation everyone must follow to ensure safety and that everything runs smoothly. People could not just park their cars on the Great Lawn. There are designated parking lots, with designated parking passes for students and faculty alike for this reason. People navigate these rules and regulations through reading the student handbook, attending orientation during their freshman year where all the rules they must follow are told to them, through looking at ones surroundings, reading signs and maps, and more. People also learn to navigate campus through being exposed to it, and it becomes more familiar overtime.

People that are in the college age and have graduated high school considerably have emotional or psychological access. Although college is available to anyone of any age, someone who is on the visibly older side may feel excluded or embarrassed by this fact; being that there is a clear distinction between them and their fellow students. There are also economic factors that could determine whether or not someone can or cannot attend SJU. Some families may find difficulty affording tuition than others. There are some invisible signs of social control on campus through the security guards always arounds, as well as other adults who work on campus but at the same time are supervising what is occurring.
