         <description><![CDATA[<div>An <strong>anticipation guide</strong> is a comprehension strategy used before reading to activate students' prior knowledge and to build curiosity about a new topic. <br><br><strong>Advantage:</strong> <br><br>- Set a purpose to the reading.<br>- They have the ability to engage all students in exploring new information. <br>- Helps students make predictions<br><br><br><strong>Disadvantage: <br><br></strong>- Some students may only scan and focus on the key questions on the guide. <br>- Students may not carefully read all of the assignment, therefore they will only answer parts of the questions. <strong><br><br>Examples: LINK<br><br>Sources: readingrocket.org<br><br>ELL: <br><br>- </strong>Anticipatory guides help ELL's because they can use their different backgrounds and experiences to understand a new concept. <strong><br><br></strong><br></div>]]></description>
